Classical music concert: Marco Mezquida

There is consensus among the press, programmers, public and his own colleagues in pointing to Marco Mezquida as one of the most brilliant and promising appearances in the peninsula's music scene in decades, and an artist destined to conquer any imaginable stage in the world. Born in Menorca in 1987, he graduated from the ESMUC in Barcelona in 2009 and since then he has recorded twenty albums leading his own projects and forty more as part of various projects with the best musicians in the country. He has performed in important auditoriums, halls and jazz festivals in more than thirty-five countries: Tokyo Jazz, Kolnër Philharmonie, Konzerthaus in Vienna, Jazz Na Fabrica in Sao Paulo, Hong Kong Arts Festival, San Sebastian Jazzaldia, Belgrade Jazz, ElbPhilharmonie in Hamburg, Parco della Musica in Rome, Teatro Café des Arts in Paris, Auditorio Nacional in Madrid,  Bimhuis from Amsterdam, Blue Note from New York and Tokyo...)

He has performed and/or recorded with jazz legends such as Lee Konitz, Dave Liebman and his projects as a leader stand out: Ravel's Dreams, his hand in hand with the flamenco guitarist Chicuelo, the Beethoven Collage project, the Pieris trio, the MAP trio, his acclaimed duo with the singer Silvia Pérez Cruz and the tandem with the dancer Sol Picó. In addition, his praised solo piano concerts stand out, where he enhances his facet as an improviser and composer. He has also composed and recorded the music for two successful and award-winning theatrical productions by Julio Manrique, among other collaborations. A dozen awards mark his dazzling musical career: City of Barcelona Award, several Enderrock awards for best album of the year, Musician of the Year on 4 occasions by the AMJM.
