Opera 'Tosca'
The plot of Tosca is set in a turbulent moment of history in Italy, the defeat of the Austrian army at the hands of Napoleon in 1800. It revolves around three characters: Floria Tosca, a famous singer who is in love with the painter Mario Cavaradossi, a man of revolutionary ideas, and Baron Scarpia, chief of police, an amoral man who abuses his power. Love, jealousy, deceit, violence and death come together in this opera in which Puccini also reflects the power of the strong over the weak.
