The European Days of Cultural Heritage
WE CELEBRATE THE EUROPEAN DAYS OF CULTURAL HERITAGE
Once again, Catalonia celebrates the European Heritage Days (EHD), an initiative of the Council of Europe and the European Commission that has been held uninterruptedly in Catalonia since 1991. It is considered the most important participatory activity in Europe in relation to cultural heritage.
On 7, 8 and 9 October we invite you to experience new activities and experiences in this day of discovering our cultural heritage. A wide range of proposals that can be consulted, organised thematically and geographically, in the online agenda. The European Heritage Days are an event open to all and a great opportunity to raise awareness of the richness and attractiveness of our cultural heritage, with the main objective of strengthening the links between our cultural heritage and society.
The European Heritage Days are organised in collaboration with the Federation of Catalan Municipalities, the Catalan Association of Municipalities, the Ramon Muntaner Institute and the Capital of Catalan Culture Association.
JEP 2022: Sustainable Heritage
For 2022, under the slogan "Sustainable Heritage" proposed by the Council of Europe, the European Heritage Days invite us to explore and reflect on the sustainability of our heritage. A proposal that leads us to reflect on the protection of our heritage (tangible, intangible and natural) and to explore the use of resources in relation to their preservation, in a context marked by climate change. It invites us to explore the role of cultural heritage in a sustainable future.
With this theme in mind, this year's edition of the Conference invites all institutions, organisations and associations taking part in the event to propose initiatives that consider the environmental impact of their activities with the aim of reducing or moderating the consumption of resources and energy consumption, and minimising the environmental impact in the programming and management of the different heritage projects.
Igualada, Capital of Catalan Culture 2022
This 2022 the JEPs will play a special role in Igualada, Capital of Catalan Culture, with the project RECorreguts. Routes to discover the industrial heritage of Igualada's Barri del Rec, carried out in collaboration with the Igualada's Museu de la Pell and Igualada City Council.
