Sitgestiu attracts about 3.500 visitors
The Sitgestiu 2018 has brought together 3,408 visitors to ther sixty cultural proposals programmed during the months of July and August at Cau Ferrat, Mseu de Marice, Palau Maricel and the Racó de la Calma, which have been the four stages of the activities. To this amount, we must add visitors to the exhibition L'escultor Gustau Violet: art, thought and territory, which was inaugurated at the Museu de Maricel and that can be seen until October 21.
The most assisted activity was the guided visits to the Palau de Maricel, which was carried out on average three times a week during the two months. Since this itinerary was implanted (which is being held in sessions in Catalan, Spanish and English), the visits to the Palau have constituted a cultural attraction for tourists and visitors.
One of the novelties of the program this year, the Evening at Maricel, has also received a high participation, since in just ten sessions has collected 196 people. The Sunset at Maricel was a night tour of the Palau and the Museu de Maricel on the two full moon nights this summer. Visitors had the opportunity to cross the emblematic bridge that joins the two parts of the Maricel ensenble, which this summer has been painted again, together with the facade of the Palau after the restoration of the railing of the terraces of this one building
The five concerts of Clàssica al Racó - together with the Council of Culture and the Consortium of Heritage of Sitges, together with the Mirabent Magrans Contest - have attracted more than 400 visitors, a figure similar to that of the the recitals of Sitges Pocket opera on Sundays at the Golden Hall, which this year featured Carmen and Madama Butterfly .
The formula of the Cau Ferrat as a small format scenario has also been satisfactory. The recitals of jazz (on Tuesdays) and those of opera (Fridays) also aroused a relevant interest, both for the content and for the space where they were held...
Children's workshops (the development of mud vases and the creation of puppets of the Festa Major) have also been welcomed. The workshops had a playful but also pedagogical component, as in addition to the plastic side, the boys and girls had the opportunity to enter Maricel's museum to see the works with which their activity had been linked.
