The relationship between arts and entertainment is the central axis of subject of this year's European Heritage Days

The European Heritage Days are already a classic in the autumn programming of the Museums of Sitges. The event, which is celebrated jointly throughout Catalonia and fifty other countries on the European continent, will take place from Friday 11 to Sunday 13 October. This year's edition wants to commemorate the arts as a whole - including virtual reality, video games or cabaret shows - and from the entertainment side. A role that is often underpinned but which for centuries has provided consolation, relief or transformative ideas in society. Especially, in the most troubled periods.

In Sitges, the program for this year's European Heritage Days will consist of seven activities. As always, aimed at the whole family. And, among them, the long awaited open doors and guided tours of the different museums. Additionally, by  using as model arts and entertainment, they will be complemented with a reading corner, a treasure hunt around the Maricel Museum and an interactive opera show on the street.

The European Heritage Days are considered as the most important participatory activity in Europe in relation to cultural heritage. It is a free and open event for everyone to publicize the richness and attractiveness of cultural heritage, with the main objective of strengthening the links between cultural heritage and society.

In Catalonia it has been held uninterruptedly since 1991. Hundreds of municipalities like Sitges will join this Cultural Heritage Festival by scheduling a wide range of proposals for all audiences. The best way to achieve social involvement in its safeguarding and valuation.
