The Night of Museums and the open doors day will be combined with other proposals such as games, workshops, a gastronomic route and a concert
The International Museum Day, celebrated around the world on May 18, will have an outstanding presence in Sitges, with a diverse program aimed at a wide audience organized by the Museums in Sitges. Open door days, children's and family activities, concerts and gastronomic proposals are the focus of the agenda.
The classic Night of the Museums, which is held in the main European cities, arrives on Friday 17. It will be an ideal time to discover the Cau Ferrat and the Maricel Museums when the sun goes down and the night comes. The two museums will open doors for free between 20 and 23h. In addition, the evening will be accompanied by a selection of background music by women composers from different historical periods.
During the entire Saturday May 18, the Museums will live an intense day of activities for all ages. From 10am to 7pm, the doors will be open to everyone who wants to visit. In the same time zone, there will be a clue game at the Maricel Museum, a family activity that can also can be enjoyed next Sunday. At 18h on Saturday there will be two more activities: the family workshop From Maricel to Terramar. Trees, flowers and architecture - framed in the events of the Centennial of Terramar -, in the Racó de la Calma, and the monographic route Taste the Mediterranean, from the Museum to the plate. On this route you will take a tour around the sailing past of the town with gastronomic tasting and cava in Can Falç, on the Paseo de la Ribera. The activity, carried out with the collaboration of the Fishermen's Association of Sitges, is priced at 16 euros and tickets can be purchased online and at the reception of the Museums.
International Museum Day celebrations will be closed on Sunday, May 19th with a concert by the Coral Sitges Sing!, at 7pm at the Golden Hall of Maricel Palace.
