March 29 to December 31, 2026
Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 2pm
ROOM 1. Paris in the 1960s. What are images for?
Should they be a moment in a broader story, as the artists of Narrative Figuration affirmed? Or are they an object in itself with no relationship to any other? In the 1960s, a historical context of social and political change in which everything was called into question, images did not escape debate. The exhibition does not oppose styles. It shows a field of forces, a shared moment in which all painting, figurative or not, is called into question.
ROOM 2. S 37. From the imprint to abstraction
In 1981, in the exhibition that the Centre Pompidou dedicated to Peter Stämpfli, he extended a black structure along one wall that evokes the imprint of the tire inspired by the geometric geometry of the relief of a car tire. This year, 45 years later, Stämpfli recreates the work.
ROOM 3. Large works, small formats
Works by Pierrette BLOCH, Mark BRUSSE, Pol BURY, Tom CARR, Philippe CAZAL, Robert COMBAS, Gérard DESCHAMPS, Richard DI ROSA, François DUFRÊNE, ERRÓ, Christian JACCARD, Peter KNAPP, Bernard MONINOT, Jacques MONORY, Peter STÄMPFLI, TAKIS, Pierre TILMAN, Jacques VILLEGLÉ. 19 small-format works bring the visitor closer to the variety of procedures of art made in Paris between 1960, a collage by Erró, and in 2011, a magnetic painting by Takis.
