The Saturday Workshops at the Escola Pia in Sitges celebrate 10 years of art, creativity, and museums.

This 2025-2026 academic year is a very special year for the Saturday Workshops at La Pía, which are now in their 10th year. For a decade, the Escola Pia de Sitges, its AFA (Association of Arts and Culture), and the Sitges Museums have joined forces to offer, one Saturday a month, free art workshops that have brought the town's artistic and cultural heritage closer to hundreds of children and their families.

In these 10 years filled with creativity, learning, and a passion for museums, the workshops have turned the school into a meeting point for discovering the collections of Cau Ferrat, the Maricel Museum, the Maricel Palace, and the Stampfli Foundation, stimulating the imagination and creative play of the little ones.

To commemorate this anniversary, the 2025-2026 season brings back some of the most original workshops from all previous editions, with a tour of artists, techniques, and traditions linked to Sitges' museums. Because 10 years aren't just a number: they're memory, art, culture... and above all, community.

Workshop Program 2025-2026

November 8 (11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.) · Shadow Puppets: Inspired by the atmosphere of the Quatre Gats and figures such as Santiago Rusiñol and Ramon Casas, children will create a small cardboard theater and black cardboard silhouettes that will come to life with light and movement.

December 13 (11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.) · Christmas Tree Figures: Using the embossing technique, recycled materials, such as tin cans, will be given new shapes and textures to create silver, gold, and colored Christmas ornaments.

January 10 (11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.) The Wrought Iron Collection: A journey into Cau Ferrat's vast wrought iron collection to learn the blacksmith's trade and recreate pieces inspired by this art form using sustainable materials.

February 7 (11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.) A Mask: Discovering Jacques Villeglé: Using the collage and "tear-off" techniques that characterize Villeglé's work, participants will transform a mask into a unique piece of art.

March 7 (11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.) The Wheel: Discovering Peter Stämpfli: Inspired by the Sitges-based painter's large-format tires, children will model clay to create their own artistic wheel.

April 11 (11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.) · Rusiñol and Literature: Based on Señor Esteve's Auca, an artist's book will be created that recreates literary and pictorial scenes with drawings, colors, and original compositions.

May 9 (11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.) · Rusiñol and the Theater: An insight into the artist's theatrical universe, building a small theater with sets and characters to represent scenes from his works.

June 13 (11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.) · We Paint Like the Luminists: Children will learn about the Luminist School of Sitges and experiment with tempera painting techniques, recreating works by Arcadi Mas and Fondevila.

Each workshop is designed for children ages 5 to 11, as well as for parents who wish to enjoy a shared artistic activity.

Participation is free with prior registration, and sessions take place at the Escola Pia de Sitges (entrance on Calle Hort Gran, 8).
