Sitgestiu enters the final stretch with new pluralistic proposals to promote culture and bring heritage closer
Sitgestiu 2025 enters the final stretch with a successful call for proposals during the first two months of the program and with expected proposals for the next three weeks in activities of diverse orientation, such as concerts, sensory experiences, guided tours, workshops and film screenings.
During the month of July, Sitgestiu received 764 visitors, distributed among the different activities called. This is a significant figure, which highlights the plurality of audiences reached, both local and local as well as tourists who are in the town and, even, those from the rest of the country, who are attracted by the offer of the Sitges Museums program. The activities called aim to highlight the heritage of Sitges (both artistic, architectural and historical), disseminate it to different audiences and provide a cultural offer in different disciplines and adapted to its context.
Aromatic walk paired with wines and cava. During the three weeks of August that remain until the end of the program, Sitgestiu has 13 events in its portfolio, among which the last two stand out: the Aromatic Walk paired with wines and cava (Friday 29) and the Music and Wine Pairing in the open air (Sunday 31). In the first case, it is a guided tour of the Maricel complex (Museum and Palace), which offers the opportunity to get closer to the interesting history of one of the most important buildings of Noucentisme in Catalonia and accompany it with a wine and cava tasting and discovery of smells. The route and tasting are led by perfumer Irene Gisbert and sommelier Mercè Sumarroca.
Music and Wine Pairing in the open air. For its part, the Music and Wine Pairing in the open air will be an excellent way to conclude Sitgestiu. It is an interesting musical journey from the word to the soul, through the Scherzo Choir, who will perform pieces by three composers from seemingly distant worlds, who are united by a subtle and powerful thread: the poetic word and the natural landscape: Gustav Holst, Albert Guinovart and Sarah Quartel. The proposal is accompanied by the tasting of three wines from the Celler de l'Hospital de Sitges: Ancestral 1324 (limited edition on the occasion of the 700th anniversary of the Hospital), Llegat Llopis and Malvasia Dolça.
And more proposals. In addition to the last two acts, the final stretch of Sitgestiu includes the last family workshop (Thursday 14), the short film session organized jointly with the Fantastic Film Festival (Saturday 16) and the Festa Major concert to the rhythm of jazz (Wednesday 20). Two transversal guided tours are also scheduled, which include the Cau Ferrat and Maricel museums (the Three Museums and a Story tour, Saturday 16th, and the Sitge Tour, Sunday 17th), in addition to six guided tours of the Maricel Palace.
