The restoration of the Cau Ferrat office clock allows it to recover its heritage.

The clock in the office of Santiago Rusiñol at the Cau Ferrat Museum has been restored and has recovered missing pieces. The process has been carried out in recent weeks and the work is now shining in its usual place.

The clock dates from the 19th century and was made in France with carved oak wood with decorative bronze applications. It is part of the Santiago Rusiñol Collection. The work carried out has allowed it to recover, on the one hand, its heritage and, on the other, also show off its image, thanks to the careful cleaning process that has been carried out, both inside and outside.

The operation has consisted of the total disassembly of the mechanism to carry out the cleaning, restoration and installation of recovered pieces. Through an ultrasound system, dried oils have been eliminated and all the axes have been adjusted.

To cover the missing pieces, a stem, a spring and a ringing hammer have been incorporated, as well as an 18th century bell and two antique weights. A pendulum has also been made, following the pattern of the time and two wooden supplements have been placed so that the internal mechanisms can reach the required height.
