Once they are over, exhibitions leave a permanent mark through the impressions visitors write or draw in the guestbook. It is a grateful, original, and creative way of conveying the feelings communicated by the collection of works presented and their exhibition discourse. The recently concluded exhibition Models of Beauty. The Old Museum of Artistic Reproductions—which was installed on the ground floor of the Maricel Museum for a year—is a good example of this. The two guestbooks left behind by the exhibition are an excellent collection of comments, drawings, and impressions of all kinds about the exhibition and, by extension, the Cau Ferrat and Maricel museums, and the figure and legacy of Santiago Rusiñol.
The two guestbooks contain texts in a long list of languages, from Catalan to Hebrew, including Spanish, French, English, and other less common languages. The comments highlight the works on display, as well as their presentation, and in other cases, they refer to the museums themselves, their collections, and galleries. There are also verses and drawings that depict characteristic spaces in Cau Ferrat and Maricel.
"The delicacy of the glass contrasts with the beautifully executed enamels, beautifully crafted and of all sizes." This phrase, included on one of the pages of the double-page guestbook, is a sample of the impressions left by the more than 46,000 people who visited.
