
Four works by Santiago Rusiñol, one by Ramon Casas, another by Arcadi Mas y Fondevila, one by Miquel Utrillo, and a final joint project by Rusiñol and Casas, all from the Cau Ferrat Museum, will be on loan in the coming weeks to participate in two exhibitions in Vila-seca (Tarragonès) and Granada. At the same time, the seven works from the same museum that were shown in the exhibition "From Montmartre to Montparnasse. Catalan Artists 1889-1914" at the Picasso Museum will be on display again at the Cau Ferrat Museum next week. Vila-seca Castle will open an exhibition on Catalan Modernism on May 15th, featuring two works from the Cau Ferrat: A Cart with Eight Draft Mules (1889) by Ramon Casas, and Portrait of Enric Borràs Performing Manelic, from ‘Terra Baixa’ (c. 1910) by Santiago Rusiñol. The exhibition was held in collaboration with the MNaC, which will loan several works.
Two weeks later, the Carlos V Palace of the Alhambra in Granada will open the exhibition Rusiñol and the Alhambra: The Awakening of a Poet, which will highlight the ties between the Lord of Cau and the Andalusian city. The Cau Ferrat Museum will be present with six works, three of them by Rusiñol: Granadina (1895), Abandoned Palace (1898), and Seated Andalusian Singer (1898). one by Miquel Utrillo (Prayers, 1897), another by Arcadi Mas i Fondevila (Staircase with Flowerpots, 1895), and another by Rusiñol and Casas (Portraiting Himself, 1890).
On the other hand, next week the pieces that were shown at the Musée Picasso as part of the exhibition From Montmartre to Montparnasse: Catalan Artists 1889-1914, which closed last Sunday, will return. These seven paintings from the Cau Ferrat: five oil paintings by Santiago Rusiñol: Reading. Portrait of Enric Clarasó (1890), Montmartre Cemetery (1891), Portrait of the Painter Ricard Planells (c. 1893), Morphine (1894), and Portrait of the Sculptor Carles Mani (1895); one by Miquel Utrillo: Portrait of Suzanne Valadon (1891); and another by Ramon Pichot: Boulevard de Paris (1898-1901).
