The Sitges Museums present a December program full of activities, culture and proposals for all audiences

The Sitges Museums are kicking off the month of December with an intense and diverse agenda that includes cultural activities, guided tours, family workshops, open days and inclusive proposals designed for all audiences. The aim is to bring heritage and art closer to the public during a particularly significant month, marked by the Christmas holidays and the desire to share cultural experiences in the community.

The program begins on December 3 with the visit-presentation of the ‘Sound Landscapes’ at the Cau Ferrat Museum, an accessible experience created by Alfons Forrellad that allows visitors to explore the museum through sound, coinciding with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. On the same day, Cau Ferrat, the Maricel Museum and the Artur Carbonell exhibition. Beyond the Mask are holding an open day.

From December 6 to January 8, the Racó de la Calma will host L’Arbre dels Desitjos, a participatory installation where visitors can hang their wishes for 2026 and create a collective space full of hope and good intentions. The month also includes special presentations and activities, such as the presentation of the book about Joaquim Sunyer (December 10), a new session of El Club de la Mirada (December 11), and the Peça del Mes, dedicated to Pastora adormida by Darius Vilàs (December 12). Family culture will be the protagonist with the Saturday Workshop at the Escola Pia, dedicated to creating Christmas ornaments with recycled materials (December 13).

The proposals linked to the exhibition Artur Carbonell. Més enllà de la máscara take on a prominent role with the conference by costume designer Cristina López (December 13) and the sensory guided tour dedicated to discovering the work and career of the Sitges artist (December 14).

Literature will also have its space with a new session of the Santiago Rusiñol Reading Club (December 18), while guided tours of museums and the Maricel Palace will continue throughout the month, including the proposal ‘Three museums and a story’ (December 20) and the visit dedicated to the Stämpfli Foundation – Contemporary Art (December 27).

Temporary exhibitions continue as the main protagonists of the season, with:

Artur Carbonell. Beyond the mask in the Sala Vaixells of the Maricel Palace and on the ground floor of the Maricel Museum

New acquisitions for new stories. The National Collection, 2024 in the Sala Rocamora of the Maricel Museum

Narrative Figuration – Imprint 2025 – 1950-2025. 75 years of creation at the Stämpfli Foundation - Contemporary Art

In addition, the Family Hint Game, active all year round, allows you to experience the museums in a playful way, while the new WhatsApp channel of Sitges Museums makes it easy to receive updated information directly on your mobile phone.

The Sitges Museums thus reinforce their commitment to an accessible, participatory and diverse cultural program, which combines heritage, contemporary art, historical narrative and local activities to enjoy culture during the month of December.
