The Sitges Heritage Consortium definitively approves the budget for fiscal year 2026e

The Official Gazette of the Province of Barcelona (BOP) published on Friday, December 19, the announcement of the final approval of the Sitges Heritage Consortium's budget for the 2026 fiscal year. The budget, initially approved by the Consortium's General Council in a session held on November 18, 2025, amounts to €4,747. After being submitted to public consultation for the legally established period and with no objections having been filed, the budget has become definitively approved. Regarding the distribution by category, the expenditure budget allocates resources primarily to personnel expenses, current goods and services, and capital investments, while revenue comes mainly from current transfers, as well as fees and other own-source income.

The 2026 budget supports the Sitges Heritage Consortium's Work Plan for the same year, which is framed within a period of transition and strategic renewal and defines the Directorate's strategic objectives for 2026. These objectives are geared, among others, towards strengthening networking with cultural institutions and stakeholders; enhancing connections with the community and the region; advancing the management and development of collections; and incorporating the Sustainable Development Goals into the museum sector. Furthermore, this Work Plan structures the Consortium's activities around four areas of action: Collections and Exhibitions; Communication and Cultural Outreach; General Services, Equipment, and Maintenance; and Governance, Management, and Administration.

Within this framework, the implementation of 10 operational objectives, 15 programs, and 58 actions is planned, all aimed at the management, conservation, documentation, and dissemination of museum and architectural heritage, as well as improving internal operations and public services. The planned work for 2026 includes initiatives related to the conservation and restoration of collections, exhibition programming, the maintenance and improvement of facilities, the development of cultural outreach and accessibility projects, and progress on strategic projects related to various heritage sites.

With the approval of the budget and the Work Plan, the Sitges Heritage Consortium now has the necessary financial and operational framework to carry out its activities during 2026 in accordance with the functions and objectives established in its bylaws.
