The different rooms and spaces of the Palau de Maricel were the scene, last Saturday, of the Art and Movement dance show at the Palau, performed by students from the Institute of the Arts of Barcelona (IAB), the school of the arts based in Sitges, and which made a wonderful impression on the audience.
A dozen or so IAB students performed different contemporary dance performances in various spaces. These were short performances (less than 5 minutes), which pivoted on movement and heritage, in front of an audience that changed rooms and, in this way, took the opportunity to visit the nineteenth-century building from another perspective
The itinerary started at the Utrillo Morlius Bastion, continued through the giants' gate, the Blue Hall, the cloister, the terraces, the Golden Hall, the main staircase and ended at the Calm Corner. In each of these spaces, the students did their dance performances, accompanied by music and adapting to the dimensions of each space.
The students who participated in the performances go Mia Rubinić, Sofia Antignano, Anastasija Kostomarova, Cherith Hellstern, Ulla Behrens-Moe, Ava Jacobs, Christina Tsounta, Tomoka Osada, Hunter Jacobs, Serena Rotesi, Penny Cooper, Iben Jenssen, Julieta Rodríguez Gastañaga, Jeanne Wohlhauser, Isabel Farrelly, Ilia Elektra Stojcevska, Leonor Paulo, Itzel Canchola Acastenco, Carla Baumgartner, Sky Buser, Isabella Vergani, Katie Burville, Tuva Søgaard, Allison Zuñiga Quesada, with professors Sara Colomino and Anthony Traheran.
Art and movement at the Palau was the third collaboration between the IAB and Museu de Sitges, after those held the last two years at the Stämpfli Foundation on the occasion of International Museum Day.
