Guided tours take center stage at the museums of Sitges during the celebration of Artist's Day and the 48h Open House festival
After the European Heritage Days, the Sitges Museums' agenda doesn't stop. This coming weekend, there are scheduled activities within the programs of Artist's Day and the 48h Open House Barcelona architecture festival. In both cases, there will be guided tours, along with two live drawing sessions.
The first of the Artist's Day tours is "Santiago Rusiñol, the total artist," which explores the Cau Ferrat Museum through his work and life, focusing on his role as a total artist: painter, writer, collector, traveler, and cultural agitator. It will take place on Saturday the 21st in both Catalan (11 a.m.) and Spanish (12 p.m.). The following day, at the same time, there will be the "Sitges Life" tour, a journey through the Cau Ferrat and Maricel Museums to discover the rooms and corners that are part of Sitges' cultural history, as well as works directly related to local events. The third tour will be the following weekend, on Saturday the 28th, also in both Catalan (11 a.m.) and Spanish (12 p.m.) at the Stämpfli Foundation, with the purpose of visiting the six rooms of this space and getting closer to the figure of its promoter, Pere Stämpfli, both as an artist and a cultural dynamo.
Artist's Day is complemented by another activity, a drawing session by the sketching group belonging to the USK Sitges association to sketch various rooms of the Cau Ferrat and Maricel Museums in real time.
Simultaneously, the Sitges Museums' agenda includes two guided tours as part of the 48h Open House Barcelona architecture festival, which is also being held in Sitges for the second consecutive year. These are tours of the Stämpfli Foundation (which will take place on Saturday the 21st and Sunday the 22nd) and the exteriors of the Maricel complex, which will allow you to observe the different spaces currently occupied by the Museum, the Palace, the Historical Archive, and the Santiago Rusiñol Library (on Saturday the 21st in the afternoon).
