Four ceramic pieces from the Cau Ferrat Museum are on display in Albacete.

The Sitges Museum has loaned four ceramic pieces from the Santiago Rusiñol Collection of the Cau Ferrat Museum to the Albacete Museum for the exhibition "Hellín Pottery: Brilliance and Color." The exhibition opened this week and is open until August 31.

The four pieces are part of the remarkable ceramic collection assembled by Santiago Rusiñol and part of the Cau Ferrat Museum's holdings. All four were made in the town of Hellín, Albacete, which played a significant role in the Spanish ceramic scene between the 16th and 19th centuries, thanks to its highly valued and sought-after pottery.

Hellín pottery encompassed a variety of types, intended for tableware and personal hygiene, pharmaceutical uses, and religious services. Rusiñol also produced ceramics applied to architecture, such as white or blue glazed tiles, slabs, and terracotta tiles.

The four pieces on loan are three silver pieces and a blue-enamelled earthenware plate (the plate also has orange and blue trim). The oldest dates from the second half of the 17th century, and the most recent from the first third of the 19th century. Three are decorated with animal motifs, and the other with plant motifs.
