End of the route for the two exhibitions that Sitges Museums currently have at their facilities .After the closing of Ramon Casas. The longed modernity, that accompanied the celebration of the Year Casas, from CaixaFòrum in Palma, also from Lovecraft: the fear from beyond - exhibition shown at Palau de Maricel and integrated in the 50th edition of the Film Festival -, it is now turn for the samples dedicated to Emerencià Roig and Joaquim Sunyer. Both, organized by Sitges Museums, will close their doors next Wednesday, November 1, after a long journey of several months to Can Rocamora and Sala Sert of the Maricel Museum, respectively.
The exhibition Emerencià Roig. From the sea to the paper has recuperated for the general public one of the most unique collections of Sitges Museums. An exceptional legacy about the past of Sitges as a seafaring village and the whole country, transmitted by the drawings and objects of the great collector who was Emerencià Roig i Raventós. The exhibition is located in Can Rocamora and is an advance of the complete collection of seMnahip that will be permanently exposed t Can Falç when this building reopens its doors once the reform and adaptation work has finished.
And from the naval constructions of the nineteenth century , to the natural landscapes of the early twentieth century. The installation on Joaquim Sunyer, The Noucentista landscape from Sitges. One hundred years of 'Cala Forn' (1917-2017) , he pays tribute to one of his most emblematic oils, which has become the most important icon of the humanization of nineteenth-century landscapes. Installed in Sala Sert of the Museum de Maricel, the exhibition has the same Cala Forn , ceded by the National Museum of Art of Catalonia, and with three more: Landscape of Sitges , also of the MNAC; Pastoral , of the House - of the Joan Maragall Archive - and Miralpeix Landscape with views of Pere Pau , from the Dolors Junyent Art Gallery.
Both Joaquim Sunyer's and Emerencià Roig 's exhibitions can be visited with the standard joint ticket that allows access to the Maricel Museum and the Cau Ferrat. In the case of the exhibition dedicated to the seafaring world, there also the to take a guided tour every Tuesday noon.
