When we talk about Sitgestiu, we are talking about opera and the company Operaílica. The Catalan lyrical repertoire is one of the most veteran proposals of the contest and in this edition, in which music has gained weight, neither could be missed.
The opera program of Sitgestiu Musical 2017 has two distinct proposals, each one with its distinguishing traits. The first: the opera sessions at the Lookout of Maricel Museum, which takes place every Friday in July and August. A combination of fragments from various classical pieces of universal lyrics that are interpreted amidst great works of art, having the Mediterranean as background.
The experience is ideal for a debut into opera and can be expanded with a second proposal: the pocket operas. In this case, reduced versions of La Traviata , by Giuseppe Verdi, and by Carmen , by Georges Bizet (the latter, played for the first time in Sitgestiu). Two renowned titles for great lyrical evenings designed for all audiences and that will be held every summer Sunday in the Gothic Hall at the Maricel Museum. Glamour of opera in its purest form
