The Museums of Sitges open doors to Christmas
Sitges already breathes Christmas. The lighting of the lights at the Cap de la Vila, the Christmas fairs at the Tent of the Frigate or the solidarity campaign for the collection of toys in some thirty entities of the town are some of the usual activities of this time of the year, which on this occasion are being exaggerated under the campaign # LaMàgiaDeSitges. And the Museums of Sitges, as it is customary, are also added to the programming of various proposals for all audiences.
The Christmas mood begins with the nose with the family workshop, Advent Calendar , from the last weekend of November, and now it is already well visible from outside the museum through the creation of Trees of Desire . The cypresses of the Racó de la Calma are converted, for a few weeks, into a natural mural in the hands of the good intentions that are left written by the visitors of the Maricel Museum and the Cau Ferrat.
These trees, loaded with good vibrations, have witnessed last Saturday's visit to the Museum of Maricel by the members of the Pastorets de Sitges and to the 125 years of the Cau Ferrat exhibition. And they will also be this weekend, from the first three Christmas activities of the Sitges Museums. On Friday: the presentation of the Piece of the Month , which recovers two still-life by Antonio Ponce that evoke the winter season. On Saturday: the monthly appointment with the family workshop at the Pia School , which this year is devoted to the figure of Santiago Rusiñol and, in this case, to his liking for the copies. And on Sunday: the traditional Christmas concert with the international choir Sitges Canta! , which will take a tour of some of the best known Christmas pieces in different countries.
Proper Christmas activities will be closed on Thursday, January 2, with the family workshop Letter to the Holy Wise Men . A classic of the Museums of Sitges in which the children make their own list of gifts and good wishes to deliver it to their majestes during the hours before the most magical night of the year.
Christmas dates will also be a good opportunity to discover the new exhibition of Sitges Museums, dedicated to the 125th anniversary of Cau Ferrat . And, along with it, the new set of tracks that invites small and large to solve various riddles related to the history of the building and the artistic life of its tenant Santiago Rusiñol.
During these weeks, the Museums of Sitges will also make special timetables. On Tuesday 24 and December 31, for example, they will only open from 10 am to 3 pm (the Stämpfli Foundation, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.). On Wednesday, 25 and Thursday, December 26 and Wednesday 1 and Monday, January 6, the facilities willl be closed all day.
