Cau Ferrat is also this summer a stage for jazz and opera music performances. The Sitgestiu program has placed the Temple of Modernism this year as the venue for the weekly recitals of these two disciplines, every Tuesday and Friday in July and August.
This summer, music sounds surrounded by the paintings of Santiago Rusiñol and Ramon Casas and under the ceramic collections and the rest of works on the ground floor of the Cau Ferrat. This space has become a stage for stable jazz and opera recitals. The jazz concerts are every Tuesday (7pm) with the group Retrio 2/3, which plays pieces of popular culture, as well as compositions by the maestros Enric Morera, Gabriel Pallarès and Manel Torrens, at a jazz and swing pace.
For their part, the opera recitals are on Fridays (also at 7pm) by the Operílic group, which plays great pieces of universal lyric. These Friday concerts are part of Sitgestiu's bet for the opera, which is on Sundays in the Golden Hall of the Maricel Palace, with representations of Carmen and Madame Butterfly . Both the recitals of Jazz al Cau and the Opera at Cau culminate with a glass of cava offered to all attendees.
The concerts of jazz and opera at the Cau include Sitgestiu, the program promoted by Sitges Museums and the Council of Culture of the City Council and that has other proposals, such as the Classical cycle at the Racó de la Calma (Thursdays), the workshops for children (Wednesday), the pocket opera (Sundays), the Moon Sunset in Maricel (on Saturdays July 28 and August 25) and guided visits by the Palace of Maricel (Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays) .
